How to verify a peptide COA online.
Follow the evidence from seller PDF to laboratory record to exact lot—then write down what the certificate still cannot establish.
THE CORE DISTINCTION
A polished PDF is a claim. A matching lab record is evidence about the document.
Online verification asks whether the seller’s copy connects to a record exposed by the named laboratory and whether both records connect to the same lot. It is stronger than trusting a screenshot, but it still does not prove how the sample was selected or what is inside every vial.
ICH Q7 is written for active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing, not as a rulebook for research-use peptide sellers. Its certificate fields remain a useful benchmark: batch identity, tests performed, acceptance limits, numerical results, dates, and accountable issuers should stay visible.
Start with the lot—not the purity number
Write down the supplier, product name, labeled amount, lot or batch number, and cap or presentation details before opening the certificate. A real laboratory report for the wrong lot is still the wrong evidence for the item being discussed.
Can the certificate be tied to the exact lot without relying on a product name alone?
Capture the certificate identifiers
Find the report or accession number, verification key or search code, client name, sample description, received date, analysis date, and report date. These fields form the document’s receipt. Missing identifiers make independent lookup harder and weaken traceability.
Which identifier should return this exact record at the issuing laboratory?
Open the issuing laboratory’s own record
Navigate to the laboratory’s official domain and use its public lookup or verification tool when one exists. A QR code is a shortcut, not proof by itself; confirm the destination domain and compare the returned record with the seller-hosted PDF.
Does the laboratory—not only the seller—return the same certificate?
Match the fields line by line
Compare client, product, strength, lot, report number, dates, test names, methods, units, limits, and results. Treat unexplained differences as an open question. A matching headline percentage cannot repair a mismatched lot or client field.
Do the seller page, certificate, and laboratory record describe one submitted sample?
Separate identity, purity, quantity, and safety-related panels
LC-MS identity, chromatographic purity, measured net content, microbial screening, endotoxin, and contaminant testing answer different questions. Record each category separately and keep the named procedure beside the result.
What was actually measured, by which method, and what remains untested?
Keep the conclusion as narrow as the evidence
A matched public record supports document traceability for the submitted sample. It does not prove how that sample was selected, authenticate a vial in hand, establish uniformity across a lot, validate every supplier claim, or determine safety or suitability for use.
Would the conclusion still be accurate if every marketing sentence disappeared?

Is scanning a QR code enough to verify a COA?
No. Confirm that the QR code opens the issuing laboratory’s official domain, then compare the report number, client, sample, lot, dates, methods, and results with the seller-hosted copy.
Does a laboratory lookup prove the tested sample came from current inventory?
No. It supports that the laboratory exposes a matching record. Sample selection, custody before submission, lot uniformity, and current inventory still require separate evidence.
Is a certificate for the same peptide good enough?
Not when the lot differs or is absent. Product-level similarity cannot replace lot-level traceability.
Does a high purity result establish identity and content?
No. Identity, chromatographic purity, and measured quantity are distinct analytical questions and should be reported separately.
